About the products
What does “Research Use Only” (RUO) mean?
RUO is an industry classification for chemicals and biological materials sold for in-vitro research and laboratory development — not for human or veterinary use, and not for diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any disease. RUO products are not FDA-approved drugs. They are tools used in scientific investigation. Every product sold by Crescent is a research grade reagent/compound.
Are these products FDA-approved?
No. Products sold by Crescent are not FDA-approved for any therapeutic use. They have not been evaluated by the FDA. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
A COA is a document issued by an independent testing laboratory that records the analytical results for a specific lot of product — identity (typically by FTIR), purity (typically by HPLC at 220 nm) and endotoxin content (typically by LAL assay USP <85>), and other quality parameters. Every Crescent product is independently tested before listing, and every order ships with the COA for the specific lot you receive.
How is purity tested?
Purity is measured by reverse-phase HPLC with UV detection at 220 nm, with identity confirmed by FTIR (USP <197A>). The standard specification is ≥ 98.0%; measured values for individual lots are reported on each COA and on the corresponding product page.
How is endotoxin tested?
Endotoxin content is measured by LAL (Limulus Amebocyte Lysate) assay per USP <85>.
Ordering & shipping
Is there a minimum age to order?
Yes. You must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to place an order. You must also be a qualified researcher, or represent an entity that is. All products are supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research.
Do I need an account to order?
Yes — an account is required. You create one when you request access, and checkout is available to signed-in account holders only. This ties every order to your research-use attestation and to your audit record.
What payment methods do you accept?
Two options at checkout:
- Credit or debit card — processed through IDEM Pay. You are taken to a secure page to enter your card details, then returned here.
- Bank account — ACH transfer processed through ValidiFi. No card fees.
Store credit is applied to your order total automatically when your account holds a balance.
Where do you ship?
All 50 U.S. states plus Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. We do not ship to international addresses, APO/FPO/DPO addresses, or P.O. boxes. See our Shipping Policy for details.
Do you ship internationally?
No, Crescent Bioresearch only works with research entities established within the United States and its territories.
How long does processing take?
Orders placed before 12:00 PM ET on a business day typically ship the next business day. Orders placed after that window, on weekends, or on U.S. federal holidays ship within 1–2 business days. USPS Ground Advantage is typically 2–5 business days from our New York origin; USPS Priority Mail is typically 2–3 business days.
Is shipping free?
Free shipping applies to orders of $250 or more, measured after any discount — those orders ship via USPS Priority Mail at no charge. Orders under $250 pay $7.97 (USPS Ground Advantage, 2–5 days) or $12.98 (USPS Priority Mail, 2–3 days).
Which shipping method should I choose?
Under $250, USPS Ground Advantage ($7.97) and USPS Priority Mail ($12.98) have similar delivery windows for most of the contiguous 48 states, and Ground is the more economical choice; Priority Mail may deliver noticeably faster to more distant destinations, including CA, WA, OR, NV, ID, AK, HI, PR, GU, and VI. On orders of $250 or more, USPS Priority Mail ships free. USPS transit-time estimates are not guaranteed and can vary with distance, weather, and carrier load.
